FAQ
Everything I get asked most. If your answer isn't here, email me at spideyhelpline@gmail.com and I'll get back to you.
Drops, The Chain & Restocks
When is the next drop?
Timing moves month to month, so the best way to know is to be in the room. Drops get announced on Instagram, with teasers and sneak peeks going out first in my broadcast channel and Discord. I'm also sending more through email now, so it's worth being on the list.
For live drops, early access opens 10 minutes before the scheduled time. The password goes out in the broadcast channel and Discord, so make sure you're in one of those before drop day.
When is the chain coming back?
The chain returns later this year, targeting late October as a pre-order so pieces land in time for the holidays. None are available until then.
The chain has its own notification list, separate from my regular email list. Sign up here so you don't miss it: https://unclebensgarage.com/pages/web-chain-order-updates
The password didn't work, or I missed early access.
Early access opens 10 minutes before the scheduled drop time and the password goes out in the broadcast channel and Discord shortly before that. It's not sent by email, so you need to be in one of those two spots.
Passwords are case sensitive and it's easy to grab a stray space when copying, so type it if pasting isn't working.
If you missed the window entirely, the drop is still live to everyone once the early access period ends. Early access is a head start, not a separate release.
Will you restock this?
Probably not, and that's on purpose. Drops are limited, I run everything solo out of my apartment, and I don't have room to sit on back stock.
What I do have: on pre-orders I order a small number of extras, mostly to cover damaged or messed up orders. Once all the original orders have been delivered, I offer whatever's left. It isn't a true restock, so there's no full size and color spread, just miscellaneous units. Those get announced on Instagram, Discord, and the broadcast channel.
People also resell UBG pieces in the Discord sometimes, so that's worth a look.
Sizing & Fit
What size should I get?
Most of what I print is the Los Angeles Apparel 1801, a 6.5 oz garment dyed crew. It runs slightly oversized and a touch boxy, made to wear relaxed.
Two ways to get it right:
Measure your best fitting shirt laid flat and compare it to the size chart in the item description. Every product page has one.
Or check the blank on the LA Apparel site, which has full measurements plus photos on a model so you can see how it actually sits: https://losangelesapparel.net/collections/the-1801-color-palette/products/the-1801-garment-dye
If a piece is on a different blank, hoodies and crewnecks for example, I say so in the product description. Check there for the specific fit and chart.
Worth a minute before you order, since all sales are final.
Orders & Payment
I didn't get a confirmation email.
Check your spam or promotions folder first, that's where it lands most of the time. Also worth double checking the email address you used at checkout, since a typo means it went somewhere else.
If there's no confirmation anywhere, there's a good chance the order didn't actually go through. It happens more than you'd think during a drop, especially if a payment didn't clear or the tab timed out at checkout. No confirmation usually means no order.
Email me and I can check whether anything came through on my end.
Can I return or exchange something?
Everything I sell is final sale. No refunds or exchanges for change of mind, wrong size ordered, or fit.
That's why I point everyone to the size chart first. Take a minute with it before checkout and it saves us both the headache.
If something arrives damaged or I made a mistake, that's different. See below.
How long do pre-orders take?
It varies by drop, usually 2 to 3 weeks or 3 to 4 weeks from when orders close.
Whatever the timeline is, I post it up front. It's in the product description, the Instagram post, the email follow up, the broadcast channel, and Discord, so you'll always know what you signed up for before you order.
The pipeline is: orders close, I submit to the printer, it prints, it ships to me, then I ship it out. I post the booked print date so you know where things stand, and I keep the tracker page updated as it moves.
Pre-orders are non-refundable unless I cancel the drop myself. Placing one reserves a piece that's still in production, so those orders are locked in.
If your cart has both pre-order and in stock items, the whole order ships together with the pre-order. I don't split them.
I placed two orders. Can you combine them?
Usually yes, but you have to email me and you have to do it quickly. I don't combine orders automatically, so if I don't hear from you they ship separately.
Once labels are printed I can't merge them, so send it as soon as you know.
What payment methods do you take?
Card and Apple Pay through the site. No PayPal, no Venmo.
Do you take custom or commission requests?
No, I don't take custom or one off requests. Everything I make is planned around the drop schedule, and it's just me doing the design, the printing coordination, and the shipping.
If there's a character you want to see, I do read what people say on Instagram and in Discord, so that's the best place to put it.
Shipping & Delivery
Can I change my address or swap a size?
Email me, and the sooner the better.
Address changes: I can update them right up until I print the shipping label. Once the label is printed I can't reroute it.
Pre-order size or color swaps: I can usually swap if I haven't submitted to the printer yet. After that it depends on whatever extras I end up with, and I'll do what I can.
I can only guarantee the order as purchased, so it's worth double checking size, color, and address at checkout.
My tracking says delivered but I don't have it.
Once USPS marks a package delivered, the order is complete on my end, and I'm not able to refund or reship something showing delivered.
A few things that usually turn it up: check around the property and with neighbors or anyone else at the address, and give it a day or two in case it got scanned early. If it still doesn't show, file a missing mail claim with USPS, and a police report too if you think it was taken.
Email me and I can confirm the address I shipped to.
Heads up that Ship Protect doesn't cover packages marked delivered, or stolen packages. Shipping to a secure address is the one thing that actually prevents this.
My package came back to you. What now?
Happens sometimes, usually a typo in the address, a missing apartment or unit number, or a mailbox USPS couldn't deliver to.
When something comes back I'll email you at the address on the order. Send me the corrected address and I'll invoice you for actual reshipping cost, no markup. Once that's paid it goes right back out.
I hold returned packages for 30 days. After that it goes back into stock, and since all sales are final I'm not able to refund it. So if you get an email from me about a returned package, reply.
The way to avoid this entirely: double check your address at checkout, and include the apartment or unit number.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Duties and customs fees are set by your country and are the buyer's responsibility, so I can't pay them or estimate them ahead of time. Customs delays are out of my hands too.
Ship Protect coverage does apply internationally.
What is Ship Protect?
Optional coverage you can add at checkout. It covers packages lost in transit, meaning never marked delivered, and packages that arrive damaged. If either happens, I can send an expedited replacement.
It works on international orders too.
It does not cover packages marked delivered but missing, and it does not cover stolen packages.
Something arrived damaged or wrong. What now?
I'll make it right. Email me at spideyhelpline@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the issue, and I'll sort a replacement or a fix.
If I'm responsible for it, I replace it or refund it.
After It Arrives
How do I care for this?
Wash cold, always. It's easier on the graphic, it holds the color longer, and it's better environmentally. There's no reason to wash a tee hot.
Light tumble dry is fine, just don't cook it. Air drying is even better.
Don't iron the graphics.
One extra note on pigment dyed colors, Vintage Black for example. Those are specially dyed for one of a kind coloring and can transfer a little, especially when wet, so wash them separately the first few times.
